it said that for every dollar I spend on Alaskaair I get 3x points? Which is not bad considering that my average ticket cost $500.

Another thing, I plan on having my wife being the primary (i maxed out my credit line) and having her adding me to it as an authorized user. But I'm the one doing all the traveling and the AA account is under my name. Does that matter?
