Yes, I am in the US and it is a domestic flight. I didn't know if the WTMD operators had grief with them or if they were common enough not to be an issue.
I only got grief once for steel toes, pre-shoe-removal days.
After that, I switched to composite safety toes, like the Bates Ultra-Lites and the Converse zip-sides.
Easy-on, easy-off, no metallic parts, and comfy as heck for trotting through the airport or letting one of your fellow passengers step on your feet.
