FWIW given the exec lounge isn't open on the weekend, if the i-net is that slow I'd drop them from my list & pick one of the other Chicago properties if rates were similar.

I know, this is off topic, sorry. No question about it that I would do that. This was actually my first visit to The Blackstone, and generally I was not impressed anyway, so I would not go back. I have stayed at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile twice before, but it is kind of hit and miss on rates, depending on whether there is a conference there, etc. I have gotten rates there under $150/night, and other times I did not stay there because the rate was over $250.
