I have enough miles for a booking from washington DC (dca or iad) to bombay (bom), but the fuel surcharge and taxes are killing the deal. using ba.com, i'm forced to fly british and connect via LHR and I'm sure there is a better way.

is there any way, through ba.com or others, to force the itinerary to route my on cathy or another partner airline for less fees?
