Wouldn't it be funny if this tool displays KE correctly and knows better than DL's agents.
I just watched the video I think you were referring to. The guy there clearly says that the data is grabbed from the airline's web site. So, it doesn't even seem to interface into any reservation systems, like KVS and I think also EVS do. And seems to only display direct flights, not even connections (as most need most of the time).
So, this will be likely pretty much useless for other than DL fights. And, if it does enough queries, it just may bring delta.com down (and consequently be blocked from accessing it), that as we all saw a few months ago is not built with the foresight in mind to withstand any signifciant increase in traffic/searches.
So, it only seems to be a graphical representation of what the airline site gives and just giving out whatever mileage they spit out, without any regard for actual mileage levels and what it should be (so when delta.com gives out some impossibly high number, this "tool" will just repeat it).
And for KE specifically, it can't be gotten from anywhere but koreanair.com if the account has enough miles (and is different mileage than what one gets with DL SM), so I am quite sure it won't have KE or others that we can't find now online... so, seems to be just a pretty graphical interface repeating what the airline sites tel it, but little substance behind it.
And also, for Medallion members, I bet it'll only show general public availability, so it's mileage for economy award flights will not be even accurate (if so).
But, I'd love to be proven wrong though!
