I flew business class on SFO-HKG recently and spoke to one of the flight attendants. She said she only does this route and only does it once a month.
(1) Is that possible or did I misunderstand her?
(2) In general do flight attendants work the counter on the days they do not fly? My guess is no but wouldn't that be a good way to allow them to earn more money and have a more stable job?
1) As others have mentioned she would only do SFO-HKG-SFO as she is based in SFO. Normally the would be scheduled for 2-3 trips per month but if she is not dependent on the income (i.e. husband makes money etc) she most likely gives away her other trips to those who want to make more money by flying more and she only keeps one trip to maintain her benefits (travel, medical etc)
2) No....they normally don't (won't say never) because it is different training, work rules, possibly union issues, rest periods etc.
