Just keep checking back, look under AAA rates/promotional rates etc. I stayed on a Sat night during the midst of the big western rodeo. A month prior my rate was 179, then I saw a 148, then a 124 (incl breakfast), then a 109 and finally a couple of days before I was scheduled to arrive came the $48. I just kept cancelling & rebooking.
As far as the Venetian goes, I'll stick with the Westin--I did stay at the Venetian last year and it is everything a BIG CONVENTION TYPE LAS VEGAS HOTEL is expected to be, but give me a quieter, less hectic atomosphere anytime. But again, it is 'to each his own'
