I am a Hertz #1 Gold member as well as a National Emerald club member. I recently became an AMEX Platinum card holder so I took advantage yesterday of their relationship with Avis, Hertz and National.

When signing up with Avis and National, each asked if I was a member already and if so, give my associated membership number. When I went to the Hertz link, I was expecting the same thing. From all of the pages I went thru during the sign up I didn't see one question or place to input my present member number. I didn't finish the signup because I didn't want a second account and go thru that hassle of cancelling one of them.

Thats said, how can I take advantage of the Hertz/AMEX relationship without cancelling my present account?
