That's all very well if after the interview you do just get a normal bag scan, but a significant proportion of passengers, quite possibly including most non-Jewish first-time leisure visitors, have to go through the thorough check of all their belongings that others have described. It sounds like you have escaped this process, but for those who don't it certainly doesn't feel similar to security at other airports.
