It is 50% mileage surcharge, not double. OZ Diamond Plus and Platinum members are not subject to surcharge.@:-)

They are only twisting the wording. Since OZ magic miles give out very little elite bonus (5%-20% vs *A partners 100%), one is already very hard to earn enough OZ miles to redeem awards. With higher mileage require for those dates, it is almost no difference than blackout dates, as one would not have enough miles to redeem in the first place.
