The suggestion by ArtM got me thinking....can any of our resident Marriott experts confirm that Marriott charges varying deposits based on guests history or was that just wild speculation? I could see a specific hotel saying, "ok, you smashed your TV and flooded the bathroom last time, so we're charging you an additional $500 security deposit," but the amount of data mining required for a hotel in California to know you caused problems at a hotel in Budapest seems rather extensive, especially considering we are talking about a transaction that generally takes less than 2 minutes from start to finish.
