I think both promos are good. SPG probably won't get as much of my business because most of my stays are week long and I loathe hotel hopping and as well as my accounts payable dept. I feel I can earn decent points with the GP promo and use them at my leisure with no restrictions. The SPG promo does have a higher value if you can use the FRN during the redeem period.
