Going by the T&C's, I am not sure that will work seeing how you meets condition A and (I assume) would prefer not to do a stay for condition B.
However, if going to the restaurant will help then I guess it's time to hit the bar for a drink!
To be helpful, I second opening the SPG amex card if you are fine with it. If you do not plan to stay with SPG then I recommend just transferring out your points or cashing it in somehow.
