It was explained that the 75000 was only for first time American Express card members.

After reading Blitzu's post I tried again today and I was told after a long wait that I should call after the first 10,000 points have been credited and then they will manually add 65,000 more to bring it to 75,000. I was told it was noted in my file and I got the name and location of the AMEX rep.
