What happens if you take follow-up action on an aggressive passenger?

Something happened recently that has me curious. A passenger was physically aggressive and both he and his flying companion verbally assaulted me. I was upset but otherwise not in any way hurt. I had informed the flight attendant about what was occurring and the FA spoke to the man, which calmed him down a little but not completely. When I got off the plane, I also informed the gate agent, who was extremely concerned and offered to have somebody come over. She used an acronym that was three letters long (PSA, CSA? I wish I could remember. Not TSA or LEO, it was one I didn't know. Would it have been a redcoat who came over? Security? Who would she have been calling over? I'm not sure but curious now). I ended up just going and getting on my next flight since it was a long walk and I didn't want to miss it. Then I got a call later asking about whether I wanted to take further action, but since I wasn't actually hurt, it didn't seem like something to pursue. I question whether that was the right decision now but I was tired and wanted to go home so it is what it is.

I'm curious... what further action could have been taken and what would have happened to this passenger? Banned from flying on Delta? Arrested? He did not seem to be intoxicated, just CRAZY.
