For these 2 properties, it looks like the Residence Inn completed a reno just last month. Homewood had already been reno'd, so both now have flatscreens.
As for status perks, I usually stay at Westin/Hilton/Marriott full service for conferences...but they tend to be oversold every time, and I've never got an upgrade to anything...ever.
