unfortunately for me, it took about 10-15 minutes to get a reservation, and I didn't have time Tuesday morning to argue and find an agent that would let me purchase the flight. I'm glad I got what I did, since the price increased by almost $200 today.

sigh. I wish we could still hold reservations through united.com.
