We are staying there at the end of March, and these posts have gotten me very excited about our stay. This is a "test" for me...my husband loves cruising, and I do, too, but sometimes I just want to stay in one place for a while. He agreed to a stay in Florida if it was really a nice resort.
We are only lowly "Plus" because of our Starwood credit card, so I'm not expecting any sort of upgrade...but I would LOVE a balcony...but we booked on Cash & Points so Oh Well.
Of all the SPG hotels in the area I chose this one because of the great pool, on the beach, and just overall good reviews.
We just booked for one night the end of October after a cruise...flight availability was much better the day after we get off the ship, so rather than spend 9 hours flying or in airports to get home I'll spend more money in FLL :-)
You have some status with SPG while we have none, I've been a member for years but don't travel that much anymore so no status. Add to that I booked through Priceline so we expect the lowest category room (broom closet?) - but from what I've read here they are still very nice! We wanted to experience this once and this was our chance.
