The logical conclusions are that the rooms that were available initially were either purchased or withdrawn in the time you spent resubmitting your proper credit card or that Priceline decided to raise the minimum bid it would accept. It's entirely possible and one more reason to use the proper valid credit card so your bid succeeds.
