Qantas Club is fine for lounge access in T5 but it is just lounge access. Unlike a BA silver card, you're bottom of the pecking order in every other conceivable way. I'm glad I bought it for this year (I find it barbaric not to get a shower, change of clothes and mini bacon rolls in the lounge after a long haul flight into LHR) but you really have to use it more than enough to earn a BA silver card before you could call it good value for money (especially given the strength of the Aussie Dollar at the moment).
