The only difference in the Y cabin of an A330 and a 763ER is the 763ER lacks PTV. The AVOD in Y in the 763 and the handful of 763ERs is far superior to the one on the A330. The A330 overhead bin space is slightly better than the 763, but not much.
The 763 already has better legroom in Y than the A330.
If they put AVOD and bigger/better overhead bins on the 763ER, it would basically become a small 764ER. The 764ER outshines the A330 in every category (better J seats, better Y seats, better AVOD, better overhead bins). And the domestic 764ER used to be the Hawaii bird.
If that is so, then great.
I'll be flying a 767-400ER next month, so will see how it is.
767-300ER however is much despised: tiny overhead bins (can't fit in any bag properly, so need to put bags in sideways which ends up greatly reducing space), really beat up interior (trim peeling off, many seats with broken recline or broken traytables, no IFE in Y, etc.), weak AC and planes often get overheated at ground (so getting into one is like getting into a sauna), frequent mechanical issues resulting in delays or cancellations (not a single time I've been on a 767-300ER that it wasn't mechanical issue delayed for at least an hour, or more), etc. I mean, even HY 767-300ER is in better shape, from my recollection, than DL 767-300ERs.
A330 is great both in Y and BE. Superior IFE (just now DL is not using it properly and loads far too little content in - but that is a DL negligence issue, not a system issue), comfortable seats both cabins (as long as aisle, true), and great overhead bin. Also, always comfortable cabin and never overheating. Pretty much my favourite overall aircraft (as my "nwtagyourbag" bag on my bag also shows).
