A water taxi from the airport to your hotel is a set cost of approx. 100EU (maybe a bit more as its been a while since the increased the price). The porter service would be at least another 50 to 60EU. The walk from baggage claim to the water taxi pick up area is approx. 8 minutes, downhill.
There is no need to pre-reserve a water taxi in advance, in fact, they really don't take reservations from arriving pax in the same way a car service does in the states (too much of a hassle in the case of departing flights).
Thanks, was hoping it was still around 100EU. Can't find the page I saw the E&R service, and they haven't returned my email yet (sent a few days ago), but I *think* it was around $250-300. I have also seen that there are baggage carts that we can take from the airport to the pick up area, so we will definitely go with that and skip the escort. I have bookmarked several companies that will prebook a water taxi for you, but at inflated prices (although I saw one for about 105EU). The only reason I would do this is if there were long "taxi lines" - does this ever happen? We are planning a few water taxi transfers, but for some, the hotel can call for us, and the others will be from the piazza, so I'm not as worried about these...
