The test due to end in March has been extended until July to permit for more testing with new software. The scanner detects everything from non-metal to sweat stains but the problem is that it cannot discern between dangerous and non-dangerous items, according to the government source quoted in the article.

This is the stick rendering software I assume? hmm. It cannot distinguish between dangerous and non dangerous items, such as feminine hygiene articles. Out of curiousity, Germans are said to be less prudish than Americans on this, so just how well would they take being felt up in their genitals because wearing sanitary equipment...? Or would the ridiculousness of this be so self evident to leaders there that it would never get to that point?
