We are also planning to take a water taxi - from VCE to the Europa &Regina in the midafternoon. Does anyone know the approximate current rates for three persons (with three good size bags plus carryons)? Should we book in advance or is it easy to just grab one at the airport? The E&R offers an "assisted" transfer (with an escort and luggage porter at the airport, but we would ride taxi unescorted) and I am trying to see how much more this service is than the regular fare - we are traveling with my elderly MIL and would like to make the trip as easy on her as possible. What is the price the E&R is offering for this service?
A water taxi from the airport to your hotel is a set cost of approx. 100EU (maybe a bit more as its been a while since the increased the price). The porter service would be at least another 50 to 60EU. The walk from baggage claim to the water taxi pick up area is approx. 8 minutes, downhill.
There is no need to pre-reserve a water taxi in advance, in fact, they really don't take reservations from arriving pax in the same way a car service does in the states (too much of a hassle in the case of departing flights).
