Was bidding for a hotel today, got a "check back in 15 minutes" message. After checking back I got the "credit card denied but you can try again" message. Put in a different credit card and tried the same request again, only about 10 minutes later, but was denied outright (the usual resubmit screen). Any ideas as to what went wrong? Suppose it could be many things, but seems to indicate I still don't fully understand how priceline works. The existence of the "check back in 15 minutes" message puzzles me to begin with--I thought it was an automated system.
