Was in Chch yesterday and wandered into the new Koru express on the way to the real lounge. Thought i'd try it out.

Very nice indeed. It was manned by a FA who said that once it got up and running it would be unattended. The lounge is gated off from the rest of the departure area (which looks really nice too), and the self-serve counters had juice, water, drinks, sandwiches and cake etc there (this was mid-arvo). Swipe boarding pass/e-pass to get in.

FA was very nice - keen to show it off and explain how it will work. Recommend others swing in if you've got 5-10 mins.

The counters back onto a take away coffee shop which any member of the public can buy things at from the non-Koru side. The FA indicated that people in the Koru express lounge could get the coffee people to make them a coffee. I assume this is free, but didn't ask.

Free standing tables and high-seats, as well as newspapers and a few magazines.

Basically looks a good place to read the paper and grab a coffee/water/juice and maybe something to eat while you wait for a regional service for 15 mins in the morning.
