I frequently go to JFK from Fort Lee (by Babe's). On average, it takes about 45 minutes. But it has taken as long as 2.5 hours.

But one time - and this it the funny part - it took 18 minutes. Including passing through security. It was the Friday before the GOP convention, I guess everyone had left town.

With NO traffic it takes me 15 minutes from 20th Avenue on the Whitestone expressway (about 1 mile from the VW expway cutoff) to get to JFK. I don't see how it could take only 3 minutes more from Ft. Lee and go through security.
