The risk here is they'll introduce wriggle room. ok so snow as an Eg- BA may choose to cancel flights on a rolling basis to avoid subsequent disruption- this is a commercial dEcision.

In my view, the current rules are generally fair. I think the airline should bear the risk of operating- there is already a split between care and comp and I think this is right. Families stranded abroad for whatever reason in my view are owed care by an airline be it for one day or one year. Airlines choose to operate, weather occurs- in my view it's a public interest issue and consumers need to book with confidence they're not going to be abandoned because of snow in January- I've seen what it's like in the US and I prefer the uk model. I don't see airlines going bust because of it.

Sorry- but I think they should be extending protection not reducing it.
