Call them and let them know your planned travel on BA that may get you Gold this year (or write). There's a chance that they will renew you after consideration (and possibly without a fee) - last year a slew of folks who did not travel 4 BA flights or many BA flights at all that were renewed based on past flight history, ash disruptions, planned travel, etc. I don't know the science behind it; we just know that they do renew folks who didn't officially qualify in a membership year.
