But, as I understand it, body piercings generally cannot be removed by the wearer. Apparently, piercings in areas like the belly button, nipples and genitals close pretty quickly without jewelery.
So how does the TSA clear those alarms? I don't think the pat down would clear the area and if it did, you would be talking about pretty thorough touching of private areas.
