I may be biased, of course, but I think EI is a great little airline. I just wish we knew (it's been going on for 18 months or more now) whether they're going to join one of the alliances or sell themselves to another airline (this could jeopardise their KL codeshares if they go with *A or OW or get bought by another airline).
I haven't really experienced unusual problems on the LHR-DUB route either. I mean, delays to/from LHR are ultra-frequent regardless of airline and route (especially short/medium haul) but didn't find EI worse than average. And I agree with you, I find it a decent little airline for flights within Europe. When they were flying LGW-NCE they were one of my favourite choices after the Cityjet LCY-NCE. I wish they would reopen that route now that flights between London and Nice seem to be packed and expensive all the time yet again!

I didn't know EI were thinking of rejoining an alliance. I don't think it would necessarily affect the code share though: the agreement was set up when EI was still in OW, and AF-OS and AF-AY still have code share agreements despite the airlines belonging to *A and OW respectively.
