florinAs of right now, I don't think it will be the best idea. The reason I wanted to bring one back for the US, is that i would save $1000+ compared to buying one back home.
If I were to make it to Norway, there are still a risk of Norwegian customs taking an interest in this. If they "catch" me I would end up paying about $1000 in taxes and customs and I would have gone through all that for nothing!

manneca Is that even possible? And either way, it would still be too much for the extra seat so it probably wouldn't be worth it...

I will check prices with UPS/FedEx and see if it is worth it. If not I guess I'll just buy a Macbook Pro and bring it on the plane

But thanks for the answers
Just buy the Macbook Pro and bring it on the plane and probably thru customs no questions asked. But whether there are any customs agents standing around when you come through, they won't bother with a macbook - even if its made entirely of solid platinum.. but they will bother if they see you carry a less expensive iMac in a huge box !

I come through Bergen often and they are particularly interested on certain flights especially KLM since people most likely connect from somewhere else to Norway on them.
