Actually, almost never beyond simple task like asking for directions or arranging limo which can also be handed by reception. If it is travel arrangements like air ticket booking or finding interesting places to go or nice restaurants, I find it easier and less hassle to do it online. They are occassionally useful in securing last min reservations at popular restaurants. But even that is rare for me and a couple of times, they actually recommend the wrong restaurants.

Disagree. Net can help you find a hot spot to eat at (maybe - there is so much garbage out there on dining) - but it can't help get you a table if it is booked. If you are in Japan or Korea and can't read kanji or hangul, websites will not even be able to assist on directions.
