Once again, it pays to read FlyerTalk.

Thank you JOUY31 for this thread, I had no idea .... though I do have CDG-SFO award tickets for this summer. So, by reading this thread I was able to do two things:

1/ Realize that I had lost my seat assignments on the outbound (B747 --> A380) and the inbound (B747 --> A340) flights.

2/ Check award availability and discover that Primes Classic were wide open for both of my travel dates when two months ago I had forked over double miles for Primes Flex.

So, after some time this afternoon on the phone with two very helpful FB agents, I'm now finally going to try the A380 in good seats and for 100 000 miles less than what I had originally paid.
