Thanks for the responses. I guess I allowed some others to vent some of their frustration... even though it seems to be at me.

Couple quick points -

-To those who said I should have booked earlier. One of the selling features of the flight pass is that it books into a high fare class to allow last minute bookings. YES not as high as a latitude fare, but still the highest Tango plus.

-I know what the rules are. But there are odd occasions when the rules might not make sense, and could be evaluated on their circumstance by a person. I don't often see flights where M=0 but R=9. Normally if a flight is that busy, the upgrades have all been taken.

-Traveling another route was not an option. Vegas flights are super busy this week due to the NAB convention, and this was the connection that had upgrades available. I'm sure you can all relate to doing whatever you can to ensure you fly upfront.


In the end I will actually close on a high note. The tried and tested method of hanging up and calling back to get the right agent proved itself again. I was able to deal with an fantastic agent who was able to find a solution for me... I'll leave it at that.
