The way it has generally worked in the past, it would work fine to earn DEQM on the LAX-DFW-LAX segments, usual on DFW-SAT-DFW portions. I imagine, but am not sure as I have not tried this, it would work with Expedia as long as you have registered for
DEQSL (it doesn't matter if one sees it on their list of offers, merely that one register, have their address in CA or TX, and otherwise meet conditions).
As there is no offer I am aware of DFW-SAT-DFW, so that would not earn DEQM any more than SFO-DFW-BDL-DFW-SFO would offer DEQM on the BDL segments. I would keep all info (ticket numbers are much more important than PNRs) and maybe even screenshots, confirmatory e-mails, etc. but then I have been know to be a bit OCD about miles.

Also, just wanted to get some ideas whether or not this promo would be honored if I went through Expedia to book the AA flight. 6.4% rebate on all Expedia bookings is a pretty good incentive (through bigcrumbs) and it would only sweeten the pot if I got DEQM out of this.
Still very new to all of this, so any input would be greatly appreciated!
