Other option is to call the airport directly and ask about their services. Once the passenger is off the plane, it is the airport, not the airline, that provides the services.

And a final idea is a traveling companion, if the passenger is a high-risk passenger, you should seriously consider funding a traveling companion.
She is capable of walking by herself for short distances, but i can't really think of another service the airport may provide that i could use. I've never dealt with such a dilemma before. Travel companion is not an option, otherwise i would have set that up. She has no other relatives there that have a visa to come with her. She has in the past (many years ago) come with her nephew that is somewhat fluent in English, but he is not available to come this time.

I'll try calling the airline or airport and see if there is anything i can set up. She really freaks out over this immigration and general airport stuff (fear of flying doesn't help either), b/c she isn't used to it all (very poor and not well educated), and has been treated very poorly in the past, even with a non-American travel companion. And given that she is not in great health this time around, i'm a bit worried about her. Her local doctor gave her the okay to fly, but he was a bit hesitant. She is one of those old ladies that doesn't understand how this stuff really works, and this would be her first solo airplane trip. I could easily see her leaving her bags behind at the baggage carousel, or end up in the airport bathroom crying over all the drama of navigating an airport by herself, and missing her connecting flight entirely, without assistance. I'll figure something out.
