I think it is related to LH actually knowing that you are a SEN. When booking on the LH website I have no problems, but sometimes bookings by the corprate travel agency do not register my status and seatblocking doesn't work.
While seatblocking is totally unpublished it is one of the main reasons I travel LH inter-Europe (compared to other full service carriers and LCC).
