Thanks for all the advice, y'all. The luggage consists of a backpack on my back. That's it. And I think I'm changing my itinerary since my friend's plane comes into Amsterdam much, much later than I thought it would. I think I'll go to Germany and crash at a friend's place instead of heading straight to Amsterdam and paying money for a hotel/hostel/hooker. And then in the morning, I'll take the tram to the Hbf with him, since he works down the street & take the ICE to Amsterdam just in time to meet my friends. MUCH better plan, I think
