I kind of knew that was the reason. However, everything I read and experience on how to beat jet lag lists eating meals appropriate to the local time of day and exposing yourself to daylight (and not sleeping) when it is daylight, are two of the top suggestions. So breakfast late afternoon (and having the shades down right through the preceding daylight hours) almost guarantee that your recovery from the time change will be hampered. But I seem to be alone in that view.
