There have been some recent complaints about wait times on the CO elite line, when it turned out the elite line wasn't the number being called. That is unusual not to get an acknowledgement of your contact, but I would imagine the 'wait times' might be a little longer with the huge influx of UA flyers COmplaining that they're not being pampered quite the same.
The contact method doesn't really matter. A general member being nice on the regular line will get through faster than a Platinum or Pres Plat not being nice on their Elite line.
It's really a matter of how you COmmunicate with the phone and how how hard you press the buttons.
