The only useful differentiator between 5* and PC is guaranteed availability.

As PC, I can always make a reservation, even when a location is "sold out." This has saved my bacon on more than one occasion (need a rental in SEA on a summer weekend at the last minute, e.g.) though I'm sure I've left a trail of angry and disappointed would-be renters who thought that their reservations meant something in my wake.
