SERVICE
- In German language: Service ist unter jeder Sau!
- This was honestly the worst "Hilton" experience in a long, long time. I cannot even talk about "service" in that hotel because it was so bad! Unprofessional, to say it in very nice words.
- There was some problem at check-in. I asked for the manager on-duty and he solved the problem. I was also promised a complimentary drink in the hotel, which I wanted to enjoy on my second evening.
- I ordered the drink, and I was waiting there in the hotel restaurant for more than twenty minutes. The two staff members were constantly busy but I don't know with what. After being ignored in the bar, I left without a drink.
- The hotel staff were too stupid/lazy to tell me how to go from the hotel to the airport! The had all kind of ideas but were not able to tell me the easiest and cheapest way!
- There are many other examples regarding the unprofessional front desk and restaurant staff...
- Positive experience with staff members: House keeping, technical service, breakfast staff, bar [not the restaurant].
- Last but not least it is to mention that my credit card which they had for "incidentals" was charged for my pre-paid stay...
HOTEL
- The hotel was recently opened and thus, it is still like new.
- Internet is free of charge for all hotel guests. Speed was good, so that I was able to work in my room.
- The hotels location is not really suitable for tourists. There is not much to do around the hotel and the area is also not really appealing.
- In the front side is a busy street with six lines. One can even at night hear the noise from the traffic.
ROOMS
- There are only two room categories: Standard rooms and junior suites.
- All rooms are equipped with a fridge, which was very useful for me since I like to drink cold drinks.
- Standard rooms are small and functional.
- Junior suites are more like "real" suites: One living room, one bed room, one bath room. Spacious and good atmosphere.
- There are televisions with a new technology in the rooms. I had difficulties to learn how they work. Sometimes they didn't switch on, sometimes they automatically switched on. Had to call technical service because of that and was told that this is a known problem in the hotel.
ARRIVING
- From the train station [Krakow Glowny]: There is a direct bus. I don't remember the number, it could be #129. You have to get off three stops after the bridge.
- From the airport: Take the airport bus [I think it was #209 and 292] to Cracovia [3 PLN for a one way journey] and change then to the hotel [four stops from Cracovia, several bus lines] [1.80 PLN for 15 minutes journey].
- From the airport: Alternatively, you may take the train from the airport to the main train station [10 PLN] and go from there by bus [2.50 PLN for one way]. However, this takes longer and costs more expensive.
HHONORS BENEFITS
- 750 points or breakast
-->
OTHER THINGS
- Price was quite ok, I had a rate of around 240 PLN during the week.
- Behind the hotel is a residential neighborhood. Have a walk there and "discover" real Cracow. There are many small shops, a butcher, kiosks, restaurants and I also found two post offices.
Summary: I was happy to leave that hotel and I won't come back, unless necessary or unless there is a HHonors promotion which makes me to collect stays/points.
PS: Is it possible to load some photos to Flyertalk? How can I do that?
