Slightly on topic, I'm reminded of a rather snobby conversation I recently heard in the Wellington Koru Lounge, something along the lines of:
"Hi there"
"Oh hi there! I wouldn't have thought YOU were Gold!"
"Oh I purchased a Koru membership"
"Oh, you paid for it, I see"
I find elitist statements like this amusing given that a number of the highest frequency flyers are not exactly what you would call people who exhibit high levels of class, by anyones' conception of the term (for example some of the extensive list of traveling salespeople NZ*Es wear name tags while flying).
