Personally, I believe it's now a done deal... You pretty much get one or the other. Now if you are able to convence them otherwise, good for you. But you do need to make the request for cash BEFORE you check out, not afterwards. Some properties have tried to say they have until you check out to offer the arrival amenity, but that's not the case. Otherwise, they would never be required to make payment.
Kinda like the commercials where they promise to beat any deal or you get the product free. If they think I'm that stupid, I don't want to do business with them at all.
