OT: Advice required for a trip to Latin America

Armed with the requisite miles, I intend to make a booking to latin america. The plan is to cover Brazil and Argentina - which will require an open jaw booking. I am pretty much sure that I want to visit EZE in Argentina, so thats 1 leg of the journey sorted (either going in or flying out from EZE, depending on availability). The dilema is which Brazilian city to visit? Rio or Sao Paulo. Looking at it from a point to minimise cash outflow, I would look to have a stopover at Sao Paulo. This would save me the cost of a 1 way flight to/from Rio. If folks here have been to these destination, please could you advise which one would you recommend? Initial research seems to suggest Rio is more fun whilst Sao Paulo is more of a financial hub. Any adivce on this would be highly appreciated.
