I know. It's sad.
One franchise owner I know tells the story of deciding one week to keep track of outright, unequivocal lies by customers--ones where there's no question that the person was lying. The result? A lie a day. That is, not a day went by where every customer was truthful.

A more Hertz/Avis-style walk-directly-to-your-preassigned-car-and-go ("Gold Canopy") pick-up system is being implemented at some locations (I saw it in DEN), but it'll be awhile (if ever) before it's universal.
