The average *G/*GE would still spend far more than the average Koru, but I'd say Air New Zealand would make a fair bit from people having Koru memberships but not flying often enough to warrant it.
This is very true. Many people, myself included, don't fly for business and in fact don't fly more than say 10-15 domestic and TT sectors a year. I pay for Koru and essentially treat it as a Club Membership which is what it is. As a member I get to use club facilities including seat +, seat selection and premium check in.Sure Air NZ probably come out on the winning side $$$ wise but I don't make a six figure income working to break even on cost.
As far as who is the greater HVC it really is not important. If each individual be they Gold/ Gold Elite or Koru perceives they are getting value for money then "Don't Worry - Be happy"
