Well, so far... good news! and not so good news.

I received an email back from the property's GM, promising to resolve it (even though they showed no record of the transactions). He also forwarded to me the back office's prompt email reply again, which I had not previously received. So far, so good.

Without the boring details, we figured out that the charge hadn't been "completed", but that those amounts (close to $800USD) were on "hold", pending a potential charge. Since my incidental charges were only $100ish, they should've released the remainder.

I informed them how best to do this, via my credit card's instructions. They promply and eagerly responded that they would take care of it.

To my delight, within a couple of hours, two "charges" had been cancelled. Unfortunately, one of them was the wrong one.

Anyway, I'm confident that we'll get it worked out. They're certainly going out of their way to make it right and I can't say more about how impressed with this property. The incidentals are incredibly expensive, but IT IS WORTH IT! What a great place to meet with suppliers and clients. Elegant property. 4 blocks (easy walk) from both Centrale Stazione and Via della Spiga, in the other direction.
