Here's my account of a surprisingly rare gesture by an airline - one that has totally convinced me to switch FF loyalty from Jet to KF. I recently flew Goa <> Cochin on KF Red with my family. Since there are no direct flights from Goa, the price quoted for 03 GOI-BOM-COK return tickets was about 32K on the KF website. On a whim, I called up KF and inquired about any discounted fares (got the idea from Chris Guillebeau - Frequent Flyer Master.) Also, I pointed out that I was having to double-back (GOI-BOM, BOM-COK) due to non-availability of a direct KF flight, and that I very much wanted to experience flying with KF. Perhaps out of compassion, or perhaps due to Jet quoting 23K (more likely,) the agent on the helpline offered me a 'family vacation' promotion - I ended up paying only 19667 for the same route!!!
I did notice that the booking class was the lowest (E), and the tickets were non-refundable, non-reschedulable. Waiting to see whether I get any FF miles.

My advice to certain member(s) here who recently complained about KF prices: try calling the helpline before booking. And be very polite in your request; sometimes it just helps.
